Great bones go a long way! We lucked up and found this beautiful Thomasville French Provincial dresser on Craigslist and knew it was a piece that just needed a little bit of upcycling to truly go a long way.

White paint takes the 30 year-old dresser from traditional to a nice and fresh shabby chic style that it sure to brighten any room. The mirrors were removed to make the piece double as a dresser and media cabinet, which is perfect for the small spaces that define New Orleans architecture.

This upcycled beauty found a home in an Uptown loft, where we know it will make the owner happy for years to come!

We’ve gotten a few requests from customers who have their own pieces that need painting, upholstery or they want something custom designed. Fortunately we have two vendors who are here to help!

Refab is owned by our vendor Amanda Belskie, and she works with customers on simple upholstery needs, pillow covers and she can even create custom benches/stools for your home, second home or small business. Email Refab to schedule your project!

Home Malone is owned by our vendor Kristin Malone and she works with customers on simple upholstery needs and painted furniture. So those pieces you love that need a new color now have a skilled painter to handle the job! Email Home Malone to schedule your project!

New Look for the New Year!

One of the great things about having a web and graphic designer that doubles as your Sales and Marketing Director, is that you can constantly revamp your business each time a new year rolls around. We were feeling a bit “pink” this time around and decided to incorporate it in our style.

We’re excited to have been in business since May 2010, and can’t begin to explain how appreciative we are that New Orleans has been so receptive to the business. Making the move back home top start this venture was a decision full of nerves, but seeing how open locals have been, we truly feel that coming back home was the right decision.

The Creole Cottage has grown into a venture where we now have vendors that provide residents and businesses with affordable upcycled goods and we hope to continue to do so in the 2012 year.
